Hi there. I’m Brandy, co-founder of Seeds Early Learning Montessori and Founder of the sister programs Seeds Early Learning and Max’s Playhouse (in Indiana). I moved to Ventura a year ago to be closer to Montessorians and move to a state that aligns with my educational philosophy.
I’m a passionate early childhood educator that has been in the field 16 years. I have owned center based programs for 10 years, working with children ages infant through 14 years old. I was able to transition from Montessori inspired to Montessori credentialed in 2019. I have trained in traditional AMI as a Montessori assistant and AMS as a primary guide, earning my credential from Columbus Montessori Education Center. Currently I operate a network hub for early childhood education that supports over 100 children.
I believe whole heartedly that we need a systematic change to bring quality care to everyone - including our rural and child care desert areas. Community involvement sends a powerful message to families. It's one that says you are important. You are loved. You belong. And it's a message that, with it, holds the strength to empower every child in the world.
I'm Paula, and I am so excited to be a part of the Montessori educational community! I completed my Montessori certification and Director training at Western Montessori Teacher Training Center in Garden Grove, CA. I also hold an American Montessori Society credential.
Prior to my career in the educational field, I was an executive in a large HR software company. I also worked for several years in the Public Relations/Advertising industry. It was at this time, while searching for a career that was more fulfilling and becoming pregnant with my first child, that I discovered the Montessori Method of education.
What appealed to me most about this approach is that it honors the natural curiosity and creativity of children. Children are treated as individuals and given choices within their learning environment so they can develop at their own pace. This makes them feel capable and respected - two things that are so important to me!
My vision for our school is to provide each child with a respectful and nurturing environment that promotes the love of learning. In a world where change is constant, it's more important than ever to raise children who have a sense of self-confidence and are able to think for themselves. Giving children the opportunity to reach their fullest potential is something that is very close to my heart, and it is an honor and privilege to be able to watch and guide your little one as he or she grows.
It is Seeds' goal to provide high quality early childhood education that will meet the standards of Ventura county's well equipped workforce and the early learning experiences needed to promote future success for those children. Seeds will offer a cheery, nurturing and positive environment that parents will feel comfortable leaving their children in. We meet these objectives by hiring a well-trained staff that will implement a curriculum inspired by the Montessori Method.
Seeds is licensed by the California Department of Social Services, license #566216353 for 45 children and meets the State and County requirements and regulations for health, safety, and nutrition program.
Our staff is the very heart of Seeds Early Learning Montessori. We are lucky to have very low turnover and some teachers have been at this location for over 20 years. They are extraordinary Montessorians, teachers, parents, partners and people. They truly care about each and every child at our school and in tune with Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy that every child is capable of extraordinary things.
They are the reason that most of our families find us because they were referred personally or word of mouth. Our diversity is genuine. We have staff from Sri Lanka, Africa, Japan and USA. We are multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and encourage sharing and honoring traditions with the children.
